Support for children with additional needs
The Sensory Room
Our Sensory Room is a safe and calm space for children up to the age of 11. The room is equipped to provide either gentle stimulation or relaxation through touch, sound, smell and a range of visual features.
Sensory rooms are particularly useful for babies and children with sight or hearing problems, or for children with varying degrees of attention deficiency disorders.
Colourful bubble tubes, glitter balls, tactile panels and interactive sound and light panels encourage hand and eye coordination, and the development of social and language skills.
A water bed and projected moving images with sounds and music promote relaxation.
The Sensory Room can be adapted to suit the needs of each individual child and is open 9.30am-4.30pm Monday to Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (term time only) 9.30am-12.30pm. Booking is advisable to ensure that the room is available and to allow us to set up the room to suit your child’s requirements. £1 per family for a one hour session.
